I apologize for not understanding you correctly, but what exactly are you referring to with "corruption"?
Hol' up there is an editor for that...?! In that case, no, I haven't loaded it up, to make my map I used another map someone put together a while ago that showed each individual block and some more useful information, like where intangible blocks are and where possible secret entrances are located. I simply took all that information and put it into a neat and easy to understand package. Also it's not nearly as ginormous.
Well, it's not an official map editor, rather there's some open source programs that can view and edit the different files extracted from the .zip compressed data file that's compiled into Axiom Verge's executable (likely the same programs used to make the game).
Here's a thing I put together with everything necessary to view the maps in the game.
Holy bajesus that's incredible! Imma definitely check this out, thank you very much! It's probably unlikely but it would be so cool if someone actually made a mod with a new region or something like that... if that would even be possible.
Also, OH, that's what you meant by corruption, alright got it, though I wonder, you folks already had maps with all the secret entrances before on here, didn't you?
Btw I apologize for not e-mailing, I didn't really know what to write.
No worries about the email. I was a little worried about providing some peices of the game files publicly, tho it's done anyway so :P
You have an idea for a mod?
I have mostly got through all of the mysteries I wondered about when I first played through. I still have difficulty understanding some of the finer details of how the game works, but I don't think it's that hard to add to the game, and I'm sure if I tried harder I could get through to the last little bits.
I haven't really spent any time enjoying the game for a while, but if you want to try to make something new in it, that'd definitely get me interested in it again.
About the secret worlds - that was me years ago, just roughly drawing the hilighted areas from it onto the low-res map.
I think it'd be really cool to make a mod, even if it was only an addition to an area - that's already something I've done. I think with a bit of effort, given that nearly all of the game is openly editable and even english-readable XML ffiles and easily editable graphic files, there's not any reason it can't be expanded to accomodate any number of changes to the game. Even a full conversion could be done, tho I'd feel obligated to get Tom's consent before I helped with any more than a small proof of concept edit.
Aha! Now I get it, that makes sense. I downloaded it now, so if you want to you can edit your comment and remove it.
Well not really an idea, just a few brain farts for potential areas, but then again I have never really modded anything before, except for a few weapon textures in S&S.
I played the game like a couple years ago for the first time and did about a couple more playthroughs afterwards. Only recently did I want to give it another go since I do have fond memories of it, and, well, long story short, it's been already at least 6 playthroughs since then xD. I know, might be a bit excessive, but well worth it. I even tried out that randomizer someone put together, lots of fun as well... if you don't happen to get darn dud on your first go that is.
About the secret worlds, I assume someone just scoured the files for all the possible locations right? I can't imagine someone would have had to check... god, how many playthroughs that would've taken.
I should probably give all these tools a go now, hell, if it's really not that complex to make some simple terrain changes, I might just try that out. Thanks again for that neat package!
Also, I know this might be a bit off-topic, but I was planning to make a bunch of 3D models of some of the bosses some time in the future, and if that ever comes to fruition, could I perhaps add some shots of those to the respective boss page image galleries? That'd be kinda neat, but I assume it might be a no-go.
Yes, the secret worlds are all marked in the files.
I've attempted modding the game a few years back, didn't get much further than map and texture editing. I've picked it back up recently, as well as joining the wiki here. If I can be of any help, feel free to ask!

Have you looked at the concept sketches? There's a lot more detail to them than the game's resolution can show.
I scanned and uploaded the album art here, but never integrated any of it into the wiki (removing the overlayed graph paper osn't jahard, i just never got around to it).
