"Hack enemies to create different status effects."

Hacking, also called Infection in the Skills menu, is a mechanic in Axiom Verge 2, much like its predecessor's corruption. It is unlocked by obtaining Mushhus and allows Indra to "infect enemies and objects and modify their behavior"[1] in the sense that Indra can turn certain enemies into allies and unlock specific gates.

Usage[]

After obtaining Mushhus, Indra is able to slowly generate a circular field around her, in which any mechanical enemies or objects can be hacked into and modified to suit what the player requires. These effects can range from turning an enemy to an ally, destroying part of an enemy's body, opening a gate, or making an enemy move slower, just to name a few. The speed at which the field generates and how far it reaches can be increased in the Skills menu.

A large portion of enemies in the game can be hacked, with the non-hackable ones being those that are not mechanical, such as the Udug. Additionally, most enemies will show their name when hacked into, though this isn't the case with Udug or certain specific enemies. Certain effects require different levels of hacking to be done, and this level can be upgraded in the Skills menu.
